It can be played polyphonically as long as the voice on the target MIDI channel is polyphonic from a master controller assigned to a sequencer track. Complicated MIDI data, such as Bank Select commands and deep controller data, will have to be recorded or drawn on sequencer lanes. Moving tracks around can solve any obvious problems, but it would be nice to see an automatic latency compensation tool introduced at some point. The minor hassle of converting, for example, MP3 before importing is now a thing of the past.
This automatic process slices a track at each peak, and lets you quantize, fix, tweak and generally get creative with the timing of the track. You can manage most of what you want using other Reason tools, though. The exported file can be used elsewhere or kept in-house for playback and treatment through the Dr:Rex or Dr Octo Rex devices, any of the Reason sample players or the Kong Drum Designer.
But Propellerhead has taken it to another level. The mixer also features new bus channels, which make it easy to group tracks for mixing big sessions. This is much fiddlier in other soft- and hardware situations. Another feature which you never knew you needed is the Spectrum EQ. Also written in the review. Very unfavorable for users with 4K screens. But now the solution is coming faster than expected. Reason Studios today officially announced Reason 12 with high-resolution graphics.
The big highlight of the new Reason 12 version will be high-resolution graphics, a feature that many have requested. In practice, this means that Reason will look good on any screen and resolution, no matter how large. This allows us to do even more interesting, interactive, and great-looking things in the future. But right now, for you, the Reason user, it means that both our own devices and third party Rack Extensions will look drop dead gorgeous.
In fact, every single device is available right now. While Reason will adapt to your screen and OS resolution, we recognize that everyone has their own personal preferences. For example, I tend to have a very high OS scaling so macOS is quite tiny, but when working in Reason I want to be up close and personal. Create, compose, mix and finish your music — Reason will help you along the journey, from inspiration to mixdown. Customers who purchase and register a qualifying Reason product before the offer ends will get the included Rack Extension instruments automatically added to their Propellerhead account.
To download the Rack Extensions, they just go to the account page at www. Parsec Spectral Synthesizer, the futuristic sound of additive synthesis for the Reason Rack. That is really a big deal for our whole community and industry as it expands to other users. But the reason I think this is a good deal is really down to the Reason Studios devices.
That includes Friktion, their beautiful physical modeling string instrument and the powerful sequencer Pattern Mutator which sounds like an automatic generator but actually is really deep for performance and composition.
I mean, just a couple of these to me already makes this worth the price of admission. I really loved that software and wanted to be able to recommend it because I thought folks would have fun with them, but knew its pricing in the past was prohibitively high for a lot of people. This gives you another option to all the extras, even if I am sure Reason users will keep an eye on whether Reason includes stuff for free.
